THE 10th EAST AFRICAN PROCUREMENT FORUM FROM 1st - 3rd NOVEMBER 2017, KAMPALA SERENA HOTEL

THE 10th EAST AFRICAN PROCUREMENT FORUM SET FOR 2ND -3RD NOVEMBER 2017

THE 10th EAST AFRICAN PROCUREMENT FORUM FROM 1st – 3rd NOVEMBER 2017, KAMPALA SERENA HOTEL

It is a pleasure for PPDA Uganda to once again host the annual regional East African Procurement Forum (EAFP). The EAPF is an annual event that is hosted on a rotational basis by the public procurement regulatory authorities of the East African Community partner states. The Forum aims at bringing together the public and private sector actors from the East Africa partner states to share best practices as well as challenges in the public procurement sphere.
This will be the 10th EAPF and a special Forum as it coincides with the 10th Anniversary of the EAPF, hence an avenue to celebrate the achievements realized by EAPF over the last 10 years.

We expect over 250 participants from Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, South Sudan, Uganda and members from other African countries to deliberate on public procurement agenda in the region. The forum will provide room for East African partner states to share best practices, identify challenges and find the best way to overcome them. Local public procurement stakeholders are encouraged to participate as this is a golden opportunity to widen your market in the region. an exhibition booth will be provided for stakeholders to market their products.

The Theme of the 10th EAPF is “Leveraging Technology for Improved Public Procurement Outcomes”. It should be noted that a big percentage of Government revenue is spent on procurement (over 55% in Uganda) yet the procurement process that is manually conducted cannot produce the best result in terms of value for money, and transparency in public procurement. The EAPF also coincides with the time when PPDA Uganda is fast tracking the enrollment of an Electronic Government Procurement Forum, eGP. We hope to share experience and Best Practices from the various public and Private sector players together with the goal of achieving value for money in Public Procurement.
