Special Interest Groups (SIGs)

This page provides information on providers registered under Special Interest Groups for purposes of participation in public procurement and disposal proceedings.

The information is provided in line with the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act, Cap 205, as amended, and the applicable regulations, reservation schemes, and guidelines intended to promote inclusive participation in public procurement.

Special Interest Groups may include eligible providers from categories such as women, youth, persons with disabilities, and other groups recognised under the applicable legal and regulatory framework.

The restrictions apply to two categories of providers:

  1. Providers suspended or debarred by international agencies of which Uganda is a member, including the Asian Development Bank, World Bank , African Development Bank, and Islamic Development Bank, in accordance with Section 128(b) of the Act; and
  2. Providers recommended for suspension by Local and Central Government Procuring and Disposing Entities, in accordance with Section 128 of the Act.
