NATIONAL ANTI-CORRUPTION AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority (PPDA), is part of the collaborative effort by the anti-corruption Agencies including the Inspectorate of Government (IG), Office of the Auditor General (OAG), the Justice Law and Order Sector (JLOS) and Directorate of Ethics and Integrity (DEI) to collectively rally the citizenry to reject and report Corruption. The collaboration between PPDA, OAG, IG, DEI, and JLOS is supported by the German Government through Deutsche GesellschaftfürInternationaleZusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, under the framework project “Promotion of Accountability and Transparency in Uganda.
Through this collaboration, a number of activities have been conducted since 2014.The activities are geared towards reflecting on the progress made in the fight against corruption and seeking solutions to the challenges; as well as raising public awareness on the need to join hands to eradicate the vice of corruption in our country.
This year, the anti-corruption campaign has been intensified and rolled out to the countryside. in September, a joint team from the IG, PPDA, OAG, DEI and JLOS traversed the Eastern region in what was dubbed as the Eastern region Anti-corruption Road drive covering the districts of;
The campaign was majorly targeting public servants, the Civil Society organizations; the Media and general public through boardroom sessions, talk shows, and barazas. This drive generated crucial feedback for PPDA and its now being used to strengthen our mechanisms in the fight against corruption.
