DIALOGUE WITH THE MEDIA ON PROCUREMENT
|A total of 40 top editors, subeditors, and senior journalists from the leading media houses took part in PPDA training workshop; a new initiative to improve public procurement coverage and reporting in print, electronic and online local and national media agencies.|
The training workshop took place at PPDA Head offices in Nakasero.PPDA top management team led by the Ag.Executive Director Mr. Benson Turamye engaged the different editors and sub editors on the progress made in regulating public procurement and disposal in the country.
PPDA also appreciated the role that the media plays in covering developments in the procurement and Disposal sector and other related issues as well as spreading awareness among the general public and the business world.
The Authority engaged the editors who are part of the management teams of most media houses to equip them with relevant procurement knowledge to enhance their understanding and appreciation of dynamics and role of public procurement in national development so as to be able to relay the same to respective audiences with utmost clarity.
The engagement further provided participants with updates on the electronic government procurement (eGP), Local content in public procurement, status on the amendment of PPDA Law and public procurement and disposal process.
